Galle Harbour
Galle Harbour is situated in the coastal town in southern province. It is the ancient natural harbour in the world. Galle harbour is protected by three landmarks. The eastern landmark is Rhumassala mountain. Galle is a famous town and goods are distributed by different countries, because galle harbour is in situated in a very important location. In 1505 year Portuguese captain Loranso Almeda’ s ship went to the galle horbour. In 1885 year main market center is a galle harbour. Galle harbour area is 320 hectares. We must protect our ancient natural harbour.

Sinharaja Rain Forest
The Sinharaja forest is the only undisturbed rainforest left in sri lanka. It is about 9000 hectares in extent. Many of the plants are very rare. Over 60% of the tree species are found only in the lowland wet zone of sri lanka. If these species of trees are allowed to get destroyed, the world would lose them altogether. So it is important that much effort is made to conserve this rich, valuable and fragile habitat. Sinharaja forest is the largest rainforest reserve the in Sri lanka. In 1840 sinharaja became a crown property. In 1988 the sinharaja was made a National wilderness area. In 1989 “UNESCO” included the sinharaja forest in the world heritage list, as the first national heritage of sri lanka. The sinharaja forest is home to many rare animals, birds, insects, butterflies, reptiles and trees. Ferns and mosses grow well as the climate is humid because of heavy rainfall. In sinharaja forest the vegetation means trees, woody climbers, shrubs and herbs. The average height of trees in the sinharaja varies between 35 to 40 metres. Some trees are above 50 metres.
Diyaluma Waterfull

Diyaluma is one of the beautiful and attractive waterfull in Sri lanka. There is a legend in Diyaluma. According to legend this is how Diyaluma,which literally means skein of water got its name. The legend is that a princess fell ground bellow in the top of the rock. The princess dies. The deity of the forest sees this and makes the girl immortal by turning her into a slim skein of water. That is the legend that Diyaluma got its name.

Coral Reefs in Hikkaduwa
One of the natural resourse in sri lanka is the coral reefs. Hikkaduwa is famous for the coral reefs. Hikkaduwa is situated in Galle district. Many visitors in sri lanka and foreigners come to see coral reefs. We can see coral through glass bottom boats in Hikkaduwa. There is very beautiful and attractive coral.
Madol Duwa
This is another famous place in koggala. It is famous by a book called Madol Duwa that was written by Martin wickkramasinhe. The English name for Madol Duwa is “Bird island” The land is covered with the plants called “Kadolana”. Madol Duwa is very famous natural place in sri lanka.
